Bhubaneswar: On allegation of illegal collection of money for providing pipe water connection to different households in Kantabanji NAC, one Mukunda Sahoo is arrested and sent to judicial custody. Accused Sri Sahoo was engaged by contractor for maintenance work in Kantabanji Public Health Section.
Junior Engineer of Kantabanji PH Section filed an FIR against Sri Sahoo before police on 25.01.2020. Acting promptly on such allegation of illegal collection of money police arrested the accused Sri Sahoo and forwarded him to the court of JMFC on 26.01.2020.
After urban local bodies are included under Mo Sarkar programme under 5-T mission necessary steps are being taken to transform the local bodies as zero tolerance zone so far as negligence in service and corruption is concerned. In the meantime Sub-Collector Titilagarh who is acting as Administrator of Kantabanji NAC has been ordered to make field enquiry as to how many more people have been cheated by the accused and who all are involved in such illegal collection of money.
The Executive Engineer of Bolangir PHEO Division has withheld salary of the concerned JE and asked him to furnish show cause reply on such matter according to H&UD department.
